Executive Chef

Jared Secor

imageExecutive Chef Jared Secor was raised in upstate New York in the agricultural rich Hudson Valley. This close proximity to the dairy, cattle, and vegetable farms of the region helped form his appreciation and passion for creating farm-to-table food at a very early age. And growing up with The Culinary Institute of America in his backyard, it was inevitable that he would become a renowned chef. After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America in 2003, Jared furthered his culinary craft as Head Banquet Chef at the celebrated Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina for three years.

While living in Southern Pines, NC, Jared was Chef di Cuisine at Chef Warren’s, using ingredients grown in the restaurant’s own gardens. After eight years in North Carolina, Jared was selected to be Sous Chef in the opening team at Manzo (within Mario Batali and Lidia Bastianich’s Eataly) and relocated to Manhattan. For more than two years at Manzo, Jared focused on innovative techniques using traditional ingredients. Drawn back to his adopted home in the Carolinas and the booming Charleston, SC food scene, Jared looks forward to bringing his love of combining local foods and sophisticated executions to Sweeney’s.
